Tama have been making Superstar kits for more than 40 years and this shiny new example still comes with a nod to the originals as well as some modern upgrades. Just like the vintage models, this set comes with the solid base formed by maple shells for a potent, full sound supported by contemporary shell-hardware. The CK48S 4-piece configuration is made up of an 18 x 14-inch kick drum, a 12 x 8-inch tom, a 14 x 14-inch floor tom and a 14 x 5-inch snare. Since each shell is finished in a Midnight Fold Sparkle wrap rather than lacquer, it's a touch less expensive.

The Tama Superstar Classic: Vintage Looks

The Superstar Classic Series maintains an authentic look to honour the original kits but in essence, this is modern gear. The specially designed compact Low-Mass lugs are examples of this, as well as the intelligent Star-Mount tom hanging system that allows the toms space to fully resonate and has ball joints allow for quick and easy positioning. The shells also come fitted with a set of Tama's very own Power Craft drum heads and the kick is supported by a damping ring.
